President Ghani Chairs ESG Meeting

Kabul (BNA) Chaired by the country’s President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani, a meeting of the Election Support Group (ESG) was held at the Delkusha Palace, BNA reported.
At the outset, the meeting strongly condemned the recent terrorist attack killed a number of Kandahar provincial election commission members and extended their sympathy to their victims’ families. The meeting discussed issues about the procurement budget for using technology in the upcoming election, with the President instructed that the procurement works should be started and the National Procurements Commission to complete the process of technical materials as needed. Attended the meeting, the ministry of finance committed that it is cooperation with the International community, would finalize the Independent Election Commission budget, in which, the government budget and the International community’s aids would be specified. Emphasizing on the transparency of the election and non-interference of the government officials in the election process, the President asked the international community for seriously overseeing every process of the election.
