Kabul (BNA) The Independent Election Commission (IEC) on Friday started the transfer of election materials to all provinces which was delayed for two days due to issues around malfunction in biometric devices.
Head of the IEC secretariat, Habib-Ur-Rahman Nang, told reporters at the commission on Friday that the process will end on September 11. He assured that the presidential election will be held on time. The election has been scheduled for September 28 in which 17 candidates are running for president. Mr. Nang said that the election materials will be sent to the center of provinces and will be distributed to other districts through a gradual process.  Mr. Nang said that 5,373 centers will be open on the Election Day which will encompass 29,586 polling stations.
