Eye-Catching Progress Made in Fight Against Corruption: President Ghani

Kabul (BNA) President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani attended and addresses a ceremony introducing Ghezal Hares as head of Afghanistan Inspector General Office, BNA reported.
Addressing the ceremony President Ghani congratulated Ghezal Hares said: “Afghanistan President’s main duty is to implement rule of law. I am proud of the judicial and justice organs for their works under the existed laws and stubborn leadership of their relevant officials.” The President went on saying that Afghanistan had eye-catching progress in fight against corruption and it was needed to further accelerate the efforts. “Any claim against the government officials, including the President can be investigated. The main reason behind establishment of the Afghanistan Inspector General Office is to investigate the material and virtual abuses.” Thanking Ghezal Hares of accepting the important passion, the President instructed all government organs to extend cooperation with the office. Meanwhile, the newly appointed head of Afghanistan Inspectoral General Office said she was committed to firmly and impartially work in line with the existed laws. She said corruption was a complicated issue that badly affected and challenged the governance and democratic process in the country. “Fighting corruption would take time, but we would work heard to restore people’s trust on government,” she said. The meeting was also attended by a number of government officials, including First Lady Rula Ghani and second Vice President Mohammad Sarwar Danesh.
