VP Chairs Cabinet Judicial Committee’s Meeting

Kabul (BNA) Chaired by Second Vice President and head of cabinet’s judicial committee Sarwar Danesh, the meeting of cabinet’s judicial committee was held the other day.
In the meeting, procedure plan for execution of presidential decrees in connection with pardoning and reducing terms of inmates, the amendment and improvement plan of Afghanistan plans as well as report of the execution of previous meetings’ decisions were reviewed and discussed.
First, minister of Justice Abdul Basir Anwar delivered report in connection with execution of decisions of the committee’s previous meetings on procedure plan for execution of presidential decrees related to pardoning and reducing terms of inmates.
Meanwhile, members of the meeting exchanged views and discussed occasions for issuing of the decrees, relevant institution for execution of the decrees, modality of execution and time limit for execution of the decrees as well as fair execution of the decrees by executive institutions.
The procedure has been codified within 10 articles for fair execution of presidential decrees in connection with pardoning and reducing the prison terms of inmates in order to maintain justice in the country.
Members of the meeting decided that the decrees should be executed soon after they were issued, except they need necessary time limit for execution of the decrees.
In the meeting, draft plan of amendment and improvement Afghanistan prisons was delivered by general directorate of prisons and detainee centers.  After reviewing the draft plan, members of the committee approved it and stressed that general directorate of prisons should manage budget for implementation of the plan within five coming years.
