President Ghani Inspects Construction Process of Kamal Khan Dam

Kabul (BNA)  Leading a high ranking delegation, President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani arrived to the western Zaranj city, the capital of Nimruz province on Sunday morning, to inspect the general situation in the province and to see the progress of the construction of the third phase of the Kamal Khan Dam.
The President was accompanied by First Vice President Amrullah Saleh, a number of cabinet members and officials of a number of departments, and was welcomed by a number of civil and military officials and elders of Nimroz province upon his arrive in Zaranj Airport, the statement from presidential press office said.
The President then inspected the progress of the construction of the third phase of the Kamal Khan Dam, while Engineer Hekmat Wali, the construction manager of the dam, provided information to the President. Engineer Hekmat Wali said that in the next four months, the remaining work on the dam will be completed and the Kamal Khan Dam will be ready to reserve water, which, in addition to irrigating thousands of acres of land, would have the capacity of producing 9 megawatts of electricity. Engineer Hekmat Wali said:
"Despite the fact that Corona has affected our work and some technical colleagues and construction materials are stuck abroad, but we are trying to complete the construction work of this section on time."
After hearing the presentation, President Ghani visited various sections of the Kamal Khan Dam and its workflow, while Engineer Khan Mohammad Takel, Director General of the National Water Regulatory Authority, provided information.
