President Karzai, French Defense Minister Talk Strategic Partnership Treaty

Kabul (BNA) President Hamid Karzai met with French Defense Minister, Gerad Longuet about the strategic partnership treaty between the two countries. 
The draft treaty is at its final stage of completion. 
The meeting discussed the progress made in preparing the partnership treaty set to be signed in this month. 
On the transition phase 2, Minister Longuet hailed the progress achieve so far in the process and welcomed the second tranche that included the district of Surobi where French troops are stationed he hoped that the transfer of security responsibilities be proceeded with success so that Afghan security forces can eventually take over the duty to independently protect their own country. 
Thanking France for its assistance especially in training the ANA, the President expressed his condolences over the loss of two French soldiers who were killed in the province of Kapisa two days ago. 
Currently, there are 3,600 French soldiers under the NATO/ISAF framework serving mostly in the province of Kapisa and Surobi district of Kabul.
