Sunday May 21, 2017

Kabul (BNA) It has passed 15 days since the assassination of Abdul Haseeb Logary the head of IS in Afghanistan, the group has assigned a new commander for the country.
Arabi brother of Hafiz Saaid the assassinated leader of Lashkar – I – Taiba who then introduced as leader of IS, presently is the leader of IS in Afghanistan. Haseeb Logary the former leader of IS in Afghanistan, was killed 15 days ago in an attack launched by Afghan and American commandoes in Achin district Nangarhar province. Earlier to the incident, Hafiz Saaid the head of Lashkar- I - Taiba then the commander of IS in Afghanistan along with 20 of his men were killed in a drone attack in the same district last year.
Arabi the brother of Hafiz Saaid in consultation with Abdullah Orkzay known as Aslam Farouqi presently residing in Pakistan became the leader of IS’s Khurasan Branch in the region. Hafiz Saaid’s other brother was killed because of dropping the so-called the Mother Bomb by US military forces on IS stronghold in Asadkhail village, Achin district, Nangarhar province. Assigning IS new leader in Afghanistan comes exactly in time, US defense ministry announced that IS would be no a serious danger for Afghanistan and Pakistan anymore, and Washington would carry out anti-terrorist operations in Afghanistan. Pentagon spokesperson has said that IS would be no a serious threat for Afghanistan and Pakistan.
A number of Afghan military experts have also said that, IS in Afghanistan was not IS that operate in Middle East, IS in Afghanistan mostly rooted in tribal regions of Pakistan and formed as a result of tribal rivalries in that country and most of its members are Orkzay who have problems with other tribes. However, Pakistani intelligence service use the group as alternative of Taliban in Afghanistan and naming IS has separated a great number of Taliban’s commanders and use them for obtaining its evil objectives in the region. Fortunately, during the recent months, the group has seriously weaken due to heavy strikes of Afghan state forces and conflicts between IS and Taliban. Therefore, assigning the new leader will not cure the acute disease of the group. Meanwhile, assigning a Pakistani citizen, as IS leader in Afghanistan indicates that how much Pakistan is involved in launching a proxy war in Afghanistan.
