Friday August 10, 2018 Kabul (BNA) While military operation ongoing in different parts of Kunar province, military officials claimed that several villages have been cleared from being of armed oppositions in the province. The operation has started since eight days in various parts of Asmar and Ghazi Abad districts of the province. Senior commander of Afghan National Army in the east of the country told BNA, during the military operation several villages have been clean-up from existence of anti-government and several hideouts belonging Taliban and ISIS terrorist groups have been destroyed in Asmar and Ghazi Abad districts of the province. Until now 20 terrorists have been killed and dozens others were wounded during the operation. M.A.Ansari

Kabul (BNA) As many as 19 armed oppositions were killed during clashes with Afghan security forces in southern Farah province the night before last.
BNA reporter quoting Nasir Mehri spokesman of Farah governor reported that, the clashes took place between Taliban fighters and Afghan security forces in Dehzak region, Bala Balok district of the province, in which 19 insurgents were killed and more than 30 others were wounded.
The conflicts have continued for several hours in the area, Mehri added.
Meanwhile, four Afghan security personnel were martyred and six others were wounded during the clashes.

Kabul (BNA) AAI Corp., a subsidiary of Textron, has been awarded a $12.75 million contract modification to provide drone system, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) in support of U.S. forces at Bagram and Kandahar Airfields in Afghanistan.
“AAI Corp., Hunt Valley, Maryland, has been awarded a $12,759,179.04 firm-fixed price modification (P00002) to contract FA4890-18-C-0005 for force protection efforts at airfields located within the Air Force Central Command’s area of responsibility,” the U.S. Department of Defense said in a release on Tuesday, August 7.
AAI provides a non-developmental contractor-owned and contractor-operated unmanned aerial system ISR solution to perform operational, engineering, and sustainment efforts necessary to effectively execute pre-deployment, deployment operations, post-deployment, and engineering support activities, the release said.
“The contractor-owned, contractor-operated ISR solution is required to support ISR tasking occurring anytime,” the release added.
The total face value of the contract is $28,420,564, and work is expected to be completed by March 27, 2019.
The contract is an extension of the original $15.67 million contract awarded in January, which was set to expire on September 27.
AAI was founded in 1950 and began work on unmanned aerial systems for the U.S. military in 1985. It was acquired by Textron in 2007.

Kabul (BNA) Afghan National Defense and Security Forces (ANDSF) by conducting joint military operations succeeded to annihilate 108 insurgents in different parts of the country.
Ministry of National Defense press office stated BNA, the operations were launched by support of Afghan air and artillery forces to suppress armed oppositions, protect the lives and properties of people and ensure peace and stability in insecure areas of Nangarhar, Paktia, Logar, Herat, Urozgan, Farah, Faryab, Kunduz, Nimroz, Zabul and Helmand provinces.
It is mentionable that dozens anti-government militias were wounded and several others were arrested during the joint military operations as well.
Also local commanders of the terrorists were among the dead.
Meanwhile, Afghan National Army’s engineering team succeeded to discover and defuse 39 round of different type of mines across the country.
Afghan air forces by conducting 48 flights supported Afghan security forces during military operations in insecure districts.
