Asadabad (BNA) Nine Taliban insurgents were killed by Afghan security forces gunfire in Kunar province last night.
The insurgents were targeted while a group of them stormed on Afghan forces patrol in suburb of Ghaziabad district bazaar.
ANA top commander in east of the country told BNA nine insurgents were killed and several weapons of them were seized in the clash.
Another report says, a series of explosions were prevented in Kunar province.
Security officials discovered and defused eight mines from busy roads of the province.
Police of Kunar said, efforts going on to identify and arrest the perpetrators of the failed mine planting by police forces.

Trenkot (BNA) Ten armed terrorists were killed in a series of air strikes carried out by security troops in Urozgan province last night.
The terrorists were suppressed in parts of Dehrawod District and Trenkot city.
ANA top commander in Atal army corps in south of the country told BNA, ten terrorists were killed in the strikes.
A hideout of the terrorists has been demolished.
According to another report, police of Urozgan province discovered eight mines from crowded ways of the province and prevented from series of explosions.
No has been detained in the connection of the failed mine.

Kabul (BNA) At least seven people lost their lives and seven others were wounded following a suicide attack in Kabul city this morning.
Security source in Kabul told that the incident took place close to Qasim fuel tanker near Ministry of Interior, 15PD Kabul city.
Nasrat Rahimi spokesman for Ministry of Interior confirmed the martyrdom of seven people and injuring seven more following the event.
Seven vehicles have been demolished during the attack.
Rahimi said the number of victims will be increased.

Kabul (BNA) About 39 anti-government militias were killed, five wounded and seven others were arrested during military operations conducted by Afghan security forces across the country.
Ministry of national defense by releasing a statement issued that the military operations have launched by support of Afghan air forces to suppress armed oppositions and ensure peace and stability in insecure areas of Baghlan, Nangarhar, Paktia, Helmand and Maidan/Wardak provinces.
Some heavy and light weapons, ammunitions and war equipment have been discovered and seized during the clearing operations, the source added.
