MAHTARLAM CITY (BNA) Group of Taliban fighters have sustained heavy casualties during clashes with Afghan security forces in eastern Laghman province.
The clashes took place during a military operation conducted by Afghan security forces in Alishing district of the province.
Top commander of Afghan security forces in the east of the country told BNA reporter, 17 armed oppositions including Mullah Azargul shadow district governor of Taliban for Alishing district were killed.
Taliban members have been targeted inside their hideouts via air and ground, the source added.
According to reports, four Taliban group hideouts along with all military equipment have been demolished during the conflicts.

KUNDUZ CITY (BNA) Spokesman for Ministry of Interior (MoI) reported that Kunduz city have been cleared from being of anti-government militias.
Nusrat Rahimi acting spokesman for MoI told BNA reporter, Afghan security forces succeeded to clear Kunduz city from existence of armed oppositions and military operation continuing in different parts of the city.
Security situation is improving in Kunduz city, Rahimi added.
The night before last group of Taliban fighters from several points stormed on Kunduz city, but their attack repulsed by Afghan security forces.
Health officials in Kunduz city said that five dead and more than 70 injured have been transferred from Kunduz’s clashes in hospitals of the city.
Meanwhile, military officials called that Taliban fighters sustained heavy losses in Kunduz city, but the exact number is not clear.
It is mentionable that, late on Sunday a suicide attacker exploded himself among Afghan security forces in Chawk Kunduz city, as a result 10 civilians and security personnel including Sayed Sarwar Hussaini spokesman of Kunduz’s police chief were martyred and several others including Manzur Stanekzai police chief of Kunduz were wounded.

Maimana (BNA) Forty-seven Taliban militants were killed in clashes of police forces in the last 24 hours in Faryab province.
Spokesman for Shaheen 209 army corps told BNA, the Taliban were killed by security forces clashes and air forces in two strongholds in Garzewak District, Faryab province.
In the operation, two strongholds of Taliban have been destroyed and numerous of heavy and light weapons were seized.

Lashkargah (BNA) The Kabul-Herat highway was clean up from insurgents in a clearing operation conducted by security forces.
The three day operation which was ended yesterday, over 20 armed oppositions affiliated to Taliban group were killed and dozens others were injured.
ANA top commander in south of the country told BNA, in the operation, the Kabul-Herat highway cleared from insurgents and over 20 Taliban associated group were killed.
The operation conducted with support of air forces, six strongholds of the Taliban with all war equipment have been demolished.
