50% Of Kamdesh District Cleared Of Armed Taliban

Kabul (BNA) Local in charges in Nooristan in east of Afghanistan say that 50% of Kamdesh district has been cleared of the armed Taliban. 
They said that from the start of operation so far 50 Taliban have been killed and close 70 others were wounded. 
Some of the Taliban commanders who were leading the fight were also said to be killed there. 
Ghullah Nooristani head of the police command of Nooristan said that they succeeded in seizing strategic points in the district of which the Taliban have retreated. 
He noted that by launching of another operation the remaining parts of the district will be taken and the Taliban will be driven to the border regions in Pakistan. 
The military operation in Kamdesh that so far was encircled by the Taliban is taking place at the request of the local people and it started on Friday by the national army commandos and police forces. 
It is said that during the operation the Taliban have sustained heavy losses. 
Mohammad Zareen spokesperson of Nooristan Governor noted that soon another operation will start so that the main hide outs of the enemies are eliminated, their war armaments taken and reconstruction program start there.
