President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani and Chief Executive Dr. Abdullah Abdullah condemned Thursday’s suicide attack in Kabul.
A statement from the Presidential Palace said a number of Afghans, including policemen, were killed in a ‘barbaric terrorist’ attack from the enemies of the Afghans.
President Ghani condemned the attack and said targeting civil gatherings, mosques and public places was against Islamic and humanitarian teachings. He said the Afghan government had always supported civil movements and insisted such attacks could not deter people’s commitment to their civil freedom and other democratic values.
Dr. Abdullah Abdullah who is in USA for official visit also condemned the attack. “We condemn this barbaric attack in strongest terms, we condole with the victims’ families and want paradise for the departed souls,” he said in a statement. Terrorists with their supporters would not be able to achieve their ominous goals with such coward attacks, he said.
