Taliban Sustained Heavy Losses in Kandahar

Kabul (BNA) As many as 25 fighters of Taliban group were killed during clashes with Afghan border troops in southern Kandahar province the other day.
The incident took place, while a group of Taliban fighters stormed on Afghan security forces’ checkpoints in Shorabak district of the province.
Commander of Afghan border troops in the south of the country told BNA correspondent, 25 members of Taliban group were killed and several others were wounded following the conflicts.
The source also confirmed the martyrdom of eight Afghan border soldiers during the clashes.
The clashes continued for 4 hours and by reaching reinforcement troops, Taliban militants were forced to flee from the area.
Several weapons belonged to Taliban fighters have been seized by Afghan security forces.
