Kabul (BNA) A Taliban group composed of 12 people gave up fighting and joined the peace process in Herat yesterday.
In his welcoming remarks to receive the former militants, Herat governor Daud Shah Saba, pointed these people were active in Kushk-e-Rabat Sangi district and with their joining to peace process the situation will be further improved in Kushk-e-Rabat Sangi and adjoining areas.
Governor Saba also noted that the government will cover these people economically for the next three months and provide them economic package each months.
It has merit to mention that more than 700 militants have joined the peace process since commencing the peace committee in Herat province.
