Kabul (BNA) Chaired by President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, Hamid Karzai national Security Council meeting was held in the presidential palace, the presidential press office said.
The meeting which was attended by the vice presidents, ministers of national defense, interior, finance, foreign and chief of counter-narcotics and chief of NDS, chief of army staffs and head of local organs discussed the general condition of security in the country and local police activities in some northern provinces, such as Baghlan, Kunduz and Talkhar.
Minister of Interior, Gen. Besmellah Mohammadi presented report about the compulsory activities of the local structures for preservation of important establishments (CIP) in Faryab, Jouzjan, Sar-e-Pul and Laghman provinces.
Gen. Mohammadi said he discussed the issue with the NATO general commander in Afghanistan, General Allen related to the activities of the CIP and annulled its activities in the said provinces.
The CIP that had illegally been carrying out activities by the NATO forces in the said provinces and raised concerns of the people is deactivated.
Meanwhile, the presentation of the ministry of interior on assignation of the public security police leadership had also been ratified at the meeting.
