Nine Taliban Militants Killed In Urozgan

Kabul (BNA) Nine armed militants were killed in two separate clashes with national police forces in Nimroz and Urozgan provinces. 
Interior ministry press office said to BNA, this event occurred when the national police forces cleaned poppy farms from Qandahari village, Khashrood district which faced with Taliban. 
Meanwhile, in other similar event which taken place in Dowan area, Shaheed district of Urozgan province, a Talib was killed and four others were injured and a quantity of arms and 4 motorbikes were seized by national police forces.

Kabul (BNA) Andres Fog Rasmussen NATO Secretary General after meeting with president Hamid Karzai told a joint press conference that my message to the people and neighbors of Afghanistan is that NATO will remain here as partner of Afghanistan for long time and our commitments in cooperation with Afghanistan after 2014 remains in power. 
He added that we have good reasons to be sure for the future as thousands of very strong committed forces of Afghanistan are serving here, they are being trained and together with the ISAF forces are fighting against the enemies and today I am witness to the exercises of the Afghan special operational forces that is one of the best force in the world. 
He stressed further that by every passing day the Afghan security forces are becoming stronger and recently 40% of the operations are being led by them and they have gained the responsibility of regions covering almost 50% of the Afghan population. 
He added that I am hopeful that the security of the districts and many provinces will be taken over by these forces as it is our common aim and we are all exerting efforts for a stable and peaceful Afghanistan which will never be a safe haven for the terrorists any more. 
He noted that in a few coming weeks the Chicago Conference will be organized and we will meet the leaders and representatives of 50 ISAF member countries that is making one fourth of all world nations and we will agree how we can continue our assistance, the training and support the Afghan forces require and share our contribution in terms of financial support for meeting the needs of the Afghan security forces. 
Hamid Karzai while welcoming the NATO Chief and thanking him over his efforts for strengthening of the Afghan security forces, said that he had talked with him about the equipping of the security forces, third phase of the transition of security, Chicago Conference and the expectations of the both sides of that and financing the security forces of the country from 2014 to 2024. 
Answering a question on Afghanization of the special military operations he said that while we are continuing our struggle against terrorism, we also have this duty to make the Afghan nation safe and their human rights are respected by the foreign and domestic forces and that children, women and elderly are not abused and harmed. 
Answering another question the NATO Secretary General said that the best assurance that I can give the people of Afghanistan is that during the coming month we will adopt decision in the Chicago Conference that NATO will continue its mission for training of Afghan security forces, its leadership on training and assistance and advice to those forces. 
We shall deliver all security responsibility to the Afghans but we shall continue our support to them and we shall not leave any security gap any way.

Kabul (BNA)  A consultative meeting was held on April 9th with the participation of press security organs and domestic media and members of the press violation commission on ensuring of national high interest of the country and ensuring of security led by Dr. Sayed Makhdoom Raheen Minister of Information and Culture. 
At this meeting the participants had free discussions. 
The press department of the national security department while providing information at the meeting also mentioned of presence of some obscure foreign nationals at some media and publications against press law and the Afghan Constitution by some media. 
Unfortunately, the media has got the assertions of this meeting in other way round as if the Noor, Zhuwandoon, Shamshad and Tamadon TVs have employed foreigners without legal procedures and they are being financed by the neighbors. 
While the representative of the national security department did not accuse any media on financing by any neighboring country, but only stated that presence of some obscure foreign nationals at some of the media has brought about concern and that the publication of the some of the media are against the national interests and the Afghan Constitution. 
The media that have defined this consultative meeting against the enforced laws of the country are accountable to the violation commission of the media.

Kabul (BNA) Minister of finance says that the views and proposals of the private sector at the Tokyo conference to be organized in the near future on continued assistance to Afghanistan will be outstanding. 
Dr. Omar Zakhilwal Minister of Finance talking at a consultative meeting with the leading body of the Chamber of Commerce and Industries of Afghanistan and the representatives of the private sector and trade society at the finance ministry said that at the Tokyo conference the proposals and views of the private sector will have the basic role, adding that the conference’s main point of discussion is the economy and infrastructure of the country and the issues to be discussed at the conference includes the viewpoints and proposals of the private sector of Afghanistan. 
He added that after 2014 the private sector should replace the foreign organizations. 
Dr. Zakhailwal asked the representatives of the private sector to express their views which will be included the Tokyo conference documents. 
At the consultative meeting Mohammad Qurban Haqjo head of the board of directors of Chambers of Commerce and Industries of Afghanistan said that the private sector in the past ten years alongside all shortages had its achievements and thanked the government on behalf of the private sector having permitted this sector to participate at the Tokyo Conference and their views be incorporated at the conference. 
They shared their views with the finance minister at the end of the meeting.

Kabul (BNA) Talks between Afghanistan and Australia over inking the strategic agreement have been going on, a source with the foreign ministry said. 
He also added that foreign minister Dr. Zalmai Rasoul held meeting with Australian defense minister Stephen Smith here the other day and expressed gratitude over the contribution of Australia to Afghanistan especially in Uruzgan province over the past decade. 
For his part, the Australian foreign minister said that Australian government would continue its support to the people of Afghanistan on priority basis.

Kabul (BNA) The ministers of defense and interior affairs of Afghanistan are in the US to exchange views on equipping and further expansion of the Afghan security forces. 
General Abdul Rahim Wardak and General Besmellah Mohammadi met in Pentagon with the US Defense Secretary Lion Panetta. 
The visit of the two higher authorities of Afghanistan to the US was programmed in the beginning of the past month but the Panwayee incident and some other incidents that led to the killing of 17 people the visit was over shadowed so they suspended their visit to the US then. 
The Pentagon authorities said that the US defense secretary in his meeting with the Afghan ministers discussed regional developments and the challenges facing ensuring of security in Afghanistan. 
The US side welcomed the successes of the Afghan forces in the recent months and congratulated the cabinet ministers of Afghanistan. 
He attributed the attained successes as positive steps for transition of security responsibility in Afghanistan.
It is also said that the Afghan and the US sides at the meeting discussed the quantity of the Afghan security forces, equipping of the armed forces of the country and the situation and activities of the Afghan security forces after 2014 as well.

Kabul (BNA) President Hamid Karzai in an order approved creation of the heart institute of Afghanistan jointly invested by the government of Afghanistan and Qasemi Group Company. 
At the meeting that took place with the president by the doctors of the heart Institute of Kabul Medical University in which Dr. Suraya Dalil was also present, views were exchanged on the creation of this institute and it was approved by president Karzai. 
A ceremony was held at the heart hospital of Afghanistan where initially Dr. Suraya Dalil said that we inform our countrymen on the first steps of establishment of this hospital and that initial steps have been taken for this very purpose. 
She added that the president after approval of this institute has issued instructions to the ministries of economy, finance, commerce and industries and the public health to start work on the protocol and charter of this institute. 
She added that creation of the heart institute of Afghanistan is a new experiment in health sector in Afghanistan and this institute shall work on diagnosis, treatment and training of personnel in the second steps shall be the center for research of heart diseases in the country. 
Dr. Esmatullah Nayebkhail in charge of the institute and heart diseases of Kabul Medical University said that the president in several meetings expressed his interest for creation of such a center in Afghanistan and now we succeeded in its establishment. 
He hoped that this center start its practical activities in another six months and become a place that we treat heart patients and prevent their going to foreign countries. 
He also invited heart physicians in foreign countries to come to Afghanistan and with their advice we can create other departments of this institute on international standards. 
Hamidullah Qsemi head of the Qsemi Group said that this specialized institute’s building has been constructed on modern engineering lines in six storey’s and has 100 beds for patients at the cost of USDI10 million.

Kabul (BNA) In order to support the national development program, a meeting was held at the ministry for rehabilitation and rural development the other day and attended by representatives from UN, Japan, Norway, Denmark, Italy, Germany, Spain and Australia. 
Speaking at the conference, the minister for rehabilitation and rural development Wais Barmak briefed about the importance of national development program and serving rural people and called for continuation of international community’s support after 2014.

MoIC Praises Football Team In Parwan

Charikar (BNA) The ministry for information and culture (MoIC) appreciated the football of the chamber of commerce and industries, Parwan province the other day in recognition of its achievements. 
Mohammad Rustam Rustamzada the head of information and culture department on behalf of the minister for information and culture Dr.  Sayed Makhdoom Raheen praised the football team and distributed appreciation letters to 22 players.

Kabul (BNA) First Vice president Marshal Mohammad Qasim Fahim has said that members of parliament have huge responsibility to discharge. 
In meeting with members of the commission for hearing complaints of senate the other day, said that each member of the national assembly has responsibility in drafting and approving the laws of the country, adding ratification of the law and control of budget are among the responsibilities that the members of parliament do it. 
Speaking on the occasion, head of commission for hearing complaints in Senate said that the legislators would do their best for improving the situation in the country. 
Nevertheless, he stated that lack of responding of some officials to the parliament would hinder the legislature in discharge.
