Kabul (BNA) President Hamid Karzai in his message over the 10th death anniversary of Dr. Abdul Ahmad Jawed described the late scholar as a great intellectual of the country and praised his services in the field of knowledge.
In his message the president added that late Dr. Jawed was familiar with several foreign languages and translated several book into Pashtu and Dari languages.
The academician Jawed was elected as rector of Kabul University and brought positive changes in university of Afghanistan.
The late Dr. Jawed had served his nation around 60 years through his pen in the field of history, literature and culture which enables the young generation to benefit.
In the message, the president thanked the organizer of two day seminar and wished success.

Kabul (BNA) The continued rain and snowfall have added to the problems of internally displaced people (IDPS) living in the Charahi Qambar area, a senior official with the ministry of refugees Mehri Khuda Sabar said yesterday. 
To reduce their problems, he said that meetings had been held with officials from UNHCR, WHO and DRS to provide tents and other essential items.

Kabul (BNA) The message notes that I was informed with regret that Shir Mohammad Paknehad a lecturer of the Faryab University has died as a result of illness may his soul rest in peace.
Late Shir Mohammad Paknehad was a sympathetic lecturer who passed all his life in training of the children of this country, he wrote some works whose services, is worth appreciation.
His death is a loss. I therefore convey my sympathies to his bereaved family, friends and the people of Faryab province and wish peace for soul and patience for his family members.

Pul-e-Alam (BNA) A mother with her two children lost their lives in roadblock and bitter cold in Kharwar district of Logar province. 
Ajmal Stanekzai head of anti-disaster Dept. of Logar said BNA, a mother with her two children lost their lives in Kharwar district last night. 
Also, the roads of villages of Arza district, Charkh and Barakibark districts were closed with the center and people faced with lack of foodstuffs. 
Engineer Mohammad Rahim Amin governor of Barakibark district said BNA, for this purpose people cannot go to bazaar to purchas necessary materials or to take their patients to hospitals. 
Engineer Abdul Baqi Stanekzasi head of public work of Logar said that they started efforts for re-opening the roads.
