Kabul (BNA) I was deeply saddened hearing the news about the sudden death of Prof. Nazir Ahmad Shahedi professional deputy minister of economy.
Late Shahedi has been an experienced personality of the country in different spheres of administration, science and has served his country with honesty in terms of training the sons and daughters of this country cannot be forgotten.
His death is a loss for the country.
I therefore convey my sympathies to his family, friends, and colleagues at the ministry of economy, lecturers and students of the economy faculty of Kabul University and wish peace for his soul.

Kabul (BNA) Six members of a family were martyred in a traffic accident in Nangarhar province yesterday. 
In this event, four children were wounded as well. 
The event occurred on Kabul-Jalalabad highway when a passenger car struck with a truck. 
The traffic head of Nangarhar in a contact said to BNA, in this event, five women a man were martyred and four children were wounded. 
It should be said the victims and injured of this event are all members of a family. 
Meanwhile, eyewitness said in this traffic event, the two cars were burned.

Kabul (BNA) President Hamid Karzai deeply saddened and regretted over the death of 8 athletes in a traffic accident in Jawzjan province.
It is said that a passenger vehicle of 304 which was moving from Shiberghan towards Mazari Sharif collided with a tanker as a result of which 8 athletes and their fans who were coming to Kabul for participation at the football league of Afghanistan were martyred and 34 others wounded.
President Karzai being informed of this painful incident seriously saddened and conveyed his deep sympathies with the bereaved families of martyrs.
He instructed the ministry of public health to take measures for emergency treatment of the wounded of this accident.

Sar-i-Pul (BNA) the United Arabic Emirate (UAE) assisted carpets with other equipments to mosques in Sar-i-Pul province.  These assistances were handed over by responsible of Arab embassy in Kabul to Ibrahim Sangar head of Hajj and Endowment of Sar-i-Pul province.  The head of Hajj and Endowment of Sar-i-Pul said to BNA, these carpets and equipments will be distributed to 16 mosques of Sar-i-Pul province.  He appreciated assistances of UAE and requested extension of these assistances in that province.  The responsible of UAE promised that, he will assist for other mosques in that province in future.
