Kabul (BNA) The message notes that I was informed with regret that one of the talented religious scholars of the country Mawlavi Sayed Abdul Rehman has died due to an illness. 
May his departed soul resign peace. 
Late Mawlawi has been a famous teacher, influential personality of Badakhshan and one of the founders of nationwide ulema council of Afghanistan has served all his life in training students and took active part in Jehad of the people of Afghanistan and strived towards ensuring peace and stability. 
The council considers his death a loss and wishes peace for his soul and patience for his bereaved family, the esteemed ulema, and the Mujahid nation of Afghanistan and the people of Badakhshan.

Kabul (BNA) Salanga, highway which was closed Sunday night due to severe winds and snow storm was reopened yesterday to the traffic.
According to General Rajab, head of Salanga, protection, after snowstorm and severe winds, the highway was reopened at 6:30 yesterday morning for traffics, movement.
According to drivers, due to snow and ice on the road, traffic’s flow is difficult, but General Rajab says the employees of his department are trying to make common the traffic system by scattering salt and clearing snow from the road.
Severe storms and winds started Sunday night and due to the storms, the highway was blocked for a few hours.
Snowfall has now stopped on the highway.
Salangs, highway witnesses heavy snowfalls and severe storms during the winter season each year.

Maidan-Shaher (BNA) Winter assistances were distributed for 200 deserved families in Maidan-Wardak province today. 
Najibullah Akbari head of disaster management office of Maidan-Wardak province said to BNA, the assistances  distributed by Pamlarani (Care) institution for deserved families in that province. 
Each families received 4 comforters, tarpaulin, a set of kitchenware and winter cloths, said the source.
According to the source, series of these assistances continues in the center and districts of Maidan-Wardak province.

Faizabad (BNA) Avalanche martyred 14 civilians in Badakhshan province this morning. 
According to BNA reporter from Faizabad city, an emergency session was held under the chairmanship of Dr. Shah Waliullah Adib governor of Badakhshan province.
Nesar Ahmad Amir head of disaster management office of that province said that avalanche strike Zeech village, Ashkashem district and destroyed all residential houses. 
According to him, rescue teams from Aqakhan and Foks dispatched to the area to assist the people. 
He said that in this village 79 houses are exist and approximately, 500 people live.
According to head of disaster management office of that province, five people were martyred and six others were rescued from avalanche.  
He said that five residents of Yaftol Bala district were lost their lives and three others were martyred in Bagh Balen village.  
Governor of Badakhshan said measures have been took place for reopening of ways into that district.
