Kabul (BNA) Criticizing establishment of gates in green zones and most parts of the city, deputy chief of Kabul Traffic Department Abdul Wadood Khair Khaw said, Kabul Traffic Department is not aware on installation and establishment of gates which are done according to a plan.
The opinion of traffic department was not asked on this issue.
According to him, the designers of this issue are those who implement their plan in green zones and diplomatic locations due to security reasons. This issue disturbs traffic movement, reduces movement capability of road, causes traffic Jams and roads closure and restricts fruitful traffic activities inside the capital city.
He added, this issue undermines all our activities for ensuring traffic security and order for citizens. We don’t know who has established these gates while similar steps should be shared and coordinated with traffic authorities. These gates disturb roads order and increase pedestrians’ problems.
A number of Kabul residents agreed with establishment of these gates due to logical reasons but some of the gates have been setup in those areas which are not diplomatic locations that have created problem, and people cannot move easily.
Ahmad a resident of Macrorayan said, a gate has been setup at Abdul Haq roundabout but coaster buses cannot pass over it and have to change their itinerary.
Freshta another resident of Kabul said, even security officials don’t allow small vehicles to pass over these gates.
Azizullah another countryman said, although providing of security is very important at present circumstances and establishment of gates is very necessary in some parts, but it is not the solution. The government should seek alternative roads and solve the people problems. Sometimes ago we were witnessing a fire in Kabul fruit market.
The fire fighting vehicles failed to reach the site on due time due to those gates and jams and huge damages inflicted to people.
The decision an establishment of gates was taken after devastating VBIED attack in Zanbaq road, by the security authorities to prevent movement of trucks on certain roads.
But experts believe that these gates would have been better to be autonomatice .
