Kabul (BNA) Afghanistan national cricket team recorded a convincing eight wickets win in the deciding Gulbahar ODI at Stormont on Friday to seal a 2-1 series victory over Ireland.
According to BNA report, for the first time in the series Ireland cricket team winning the toss and batted first, for the first time in the series, but struggled to build any momentum and lost wickets at regular intervals.
Ireland's batsmen were finding spin bowling hard to play against and were all out for 124 in just 36.1 overs.
Rashid Khan, 19, took three wickets for 18 runs while Mohammad Nabi and Gulbuddin Naib took two wickets apiece.
Then, Afghanistan easily chased down, reaching 127 for the loss of just two wickets inside 24 overs at Stormont.
Ihsanullah Janat top-scored with an unbeaten 57, with the opener accompanied for much of the innings by Hashmatullah Shahidi, whose 34 was the second-highest score of the match.
It was a double success for Afghanistan after they also won 2-0 in last week's Twenty20 series against Ireland.

Kabul (BNA) Sussex have re-signed Afghanistan leg-spinner Rashid Khan for the first half of the 2019 Twenty20 Blast group stage.
After initially signing a deal for the first half of this year’s group stage, Rashid extended his stay after pulling out of the Caribbean Premier League.
The 19-year-old took 17 wickets at an average of 14.35 to help Sussex to a first quarter-final since 2015. “I’m jumping for joy at the prospect of having Rashid back for us next year,” said Sussex head coach Jason Gillespie. “I can’t speak highly enough of the young man, his performances and how he fitted into our dressing room. He was brilliant for Sussex.” Subject to international clearance, Rashid will play for the Sharks until the start of next year’s Caribbean Premier League.

Kabul (BNA) Volleyball competitions has begun between 24 teams in eastern Nangarhar province.
An in-charge sport in Nangarhar told BNA, aiming of the competitions is growth of sport among youths and identifying of top players in volleyball field.
Most of the teams that participated in the competitions came from insecure districts of the province.

Kabul (BNA) Afghanistan have taken an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series after a thumping 81-run victory over Ireland in the second T20 at Bready Cricket Club, Magheramason, Bready last night.
After a nail-biting 16-run win for the tourists in the opening match of the series of Monday, Ireland faltered with the bat as they were bowled out for just 79 in response to Afghanistan's 8-160.
Hazratullah Zazai top scored with 82 from just 54 balls and was ably supported by Captain Asghar Afghan's 37.
Ireland's reply never recovered from a terrible start as Paul Stirling, Stuart Thompson and Andy Balbirnie were all dismissed by the third over with just nine runs on the board.
William Porterfield (46) and Gary Wilson (22) led a short-lived recovery but both fell to Rashid Khan, who finished with figures of 4-17, and no other Irish batsman reached double figures.
The hosts will aim to salvage some pride from the final match of the series on Friday before a three-match ODI series in Belfast next week.
