Kabul (BNA) Lancashire have signed Afghanistan left-arm wrist spinner Zahir Khan until the end of the season.
The 19-year-old has played eight T20s and taken 15 wickets at an average of 13.53 and 34 wickets at 13.14 in seven first-class games.
He helped Afghanistan reach the Under-19 World Cup semi-final in 2016.
"He is an exciting prospect and gives us another option with the ball," Lancashire head coach Glen Chapple told the club website.
Zahir added: "It's always been an ambition of mine to play county cricket in England to test myself against some of the world's best players."
Lancashire resume their T20 Blast campaign at home to Durham on Tuesday.
The Red Rose county currently sit fourth in the north table with five matches remaining.

Kabul (BNA) Basketball competitions to be held between teams from South Asia’s countries today.
Afghanistan basketball national team for participating in the competitions went to Sari Lank yesterday.
According to BNA report, it is supposed basketball competitions to be launched by participation of India, Pakistan, Maldives, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Sari Lanka, Nepal and Afghanistan basketball teams.
Four athletes, a coach and two delegates have participated from Afghanistan in the competitions.

Kabul (BNA) Boxing competitions has started in Kabul to choose best athletes for participating in Indian Premier League.
According to BNA report, the competitions kick off by participation of 48 athletes from Kabul, Parwan, Paktika, Balkh, Logar and Ghazni provinces.
This competitions to be continued for three days.
Based on information from boxing federation, at the end of the competitions 15 top athletes will be selected.
