Kabul (BNA) Pakistan’s former skipper Shahid Afridi has opted to withdraw from the Afghanistan cricket league, Shpageeza League, amid persistent tensions between the cricket boards of the two nations.
Afridi informed regarding his decision late on Friday night citing family issues as the main reason behind his decision.
I look fwd. to come in future & support the great imitative.  I support bridging relations via cricket for peace to unite nations.
Tensions between Afghanistan and Pakistan cricket boards escalated after deadly bombings in Kabul late in May and earlier in June this year.
However, it is yet not clear if the persistent tensions has played any role in the decision of Afridi or not.
