Power-lifting Athletes Returned Home With Six Medals

Kabul (BNA) Afghan national power-lifting team returned homed on Sunday from the Asian Power-lifting Championship held in Japan where they received six medals including one gold, two silvers and three bronzes.
Power-lifting players were warmly welcomed by athletes and officials at the Kabul International Airport.
Afghan athletes played remarkable performance and received four positions I the championship, said Khwaja Farid Seddiqi head of Power-lifting Federation.
Mr. Seddiqi also received power-lifting referee document in the event.
He added the gold winner of the competition was Sayed Nadir Mojaddidi and the other athletes gained silver and bronze medals.
Nine players represented on behalf of Afghanistan in the championship.
They called on government and relevant officials to pave the ground for better sport opportunity to the athletes to bring such vital achievements in the future.
The event was held on 5-9 December in Kobe City of Japan with participation of 45 nations.
Japan, China and Iran secured first, second and third positions respectively in the event.
