Cricket Board’s Shortcomings Should Be Addressed: President Ghani

Kabul (BNA) President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani met with Cricket Board Members here on Thursday, presidential statement said yesterday.
At the outset, the cricket board members said the cricket team’s situation in 2019 world cup has been reviewed and steps to be taken for its improvement, the statement added. 
Thanking the cricket board members, President Ghani said cricket team has earned much achievements and its “success has been very important for Afghans. “Cricket is our people’s asset and investments should be made for its improvement.”
Hinting to problems at the cricket board, the president said team’s shortcoming should be seriously investigated and steps must be taken to address them. “This is the responsibility of board members to keep unity among the team.”
The president went on saying that the team should be well-prepared for the upcoming T20 world cup, adding development programs should be considered for the cricket team, the statement added.
