Kabul (BNA) Forty new schools have been inaugurated in Maidan-Wardak yesterday.
These schools have been constructed with the assistance of World Bank (WB) and PRT of Turkish at the cost of $ 2 million. 
Fazlulrahman Tariq education head of Maidan-Wardak province said that with construction of these schools, approximately, for 20,000 students educational facilities were provided. 
According to him, each school has 6 to 8 classrooms and other educational facilities. 
In the inaugural ceremony of these schools, Farooq Wardak Minister of Education said with financial cooperation of World Society we try to solve shortages of classroom in the schools. 
He pledged to build 100 new schools in Maidan-Wardak province within next two years.  
Meanwhile, Mohammad Halim Fedai governor of Maidan Wardak called construction of these schools a useful achievement in extension of education in that province and asked education authorities to accelerate construction of new school.   Translated by Suraya-Yarzada

Kabul (BNA) UNICEF is to spend $55, 7 million through international partnership convention for development of Afghan education in the country. 
The agreement was signed on Tuesday between Afghan minister of education Farooq Wardak and a representative of UNICEF Peter Kroli here in Kabul. 
After signing agreement, Afghan minister of education said,  “according to the agreement, the amount is to be spent in 55 districts of Ghor, Badhis, Daikundi, Paktia, Paktika, Khost, Nimroz, Farah, Samangan, Kandahar, Zabul Nooristan and Helmand provinces for capacity building, increase of women teachers, construction of 2500 schools and enhancement of professional skills of 6000 teachers through seminars and workshops. 
The Afghan minister appreciated UNICEF and International Partnership Convention for the assistance and support for improvement of education in the country. 
UNICEF representative to Afghanistan said, “UNICEF has been working with Afghan government in education sector for the past 60 years, adding investment in education sector is a reasonable investment that we could achieve good outcomes. 
He said implementation of the projects will be started by Afghan ministry of education, while UNICEF will be monitoring the projects.

Kabul (BNA) Nearly 62 students completing four years education at the information technology and telecommunication institute received their graduation certificates in a ceremony held on Tuesday here in Kabul. 
Eng. Amirzai Sangin, acting minister of telecommunication and information technology while congratulating the student’s graduation considered their graduation as vital in self-efficiency and telecommunication sector. 
He said currently 90% of cadres have been provided from inside of the country in telecommunication sector, hoping that by training other new cadres in the country, the need for professional foreign individuals won’t be felt in telecommunication sector. 
Eng. Mohammad Shafi Sharifi, head of ICTI said 34 students have graduated in the first period, adding the graduates have been absorbed in various sections of telecommunication. 
He further said currently 225 students male and female are following their studies in the institute and it is determined that 80 more will be absorbed through the entry test in coming year. 
According to Afghan minister of telecommunication and information technology, currently 18 million people have access to telecommunication services in the country, while 100,000 Afghans are working in this sector.

Asadabad (BNA) Costing $500,000 a new building to be built for agriculture faculty of Sayed Jamaluddin University by Counter Narcotics Ministry. 
The Rector of Sayed Jamaluddin Afghan University of Kunar Mir Ahmad Hamid said that the building would have 30 classrooms and other facilities.
Kunar governor, Sayed Fazlullah Wahedi during inaugural ceremony said that the building is funded through counter narcotics ministry for the purpose of elimination of poppy cultivation in this province. 
It is mentionable that one week back, the work of construction of education faculty of this university was also begun.
