Kabul (BNA) The Kabul Poly Technic University has enrolled over 900 new students this year. Ezzatullah Hamed Rector of the university said that these students (both male and female) were attracted in the construction, geology and mines, electro-mechanic, computer engineering and chemical technology of the university. He added that the university attracts many students through entrance exams every year and graduates up to 500 from its different departments. He added that currently round 3,000 students, 7% of whom are girls, are pursuing education and taught by 217 lecturers. He stresses further that during the currently year a new faculty was created in the university in the name of geodesy faculty along with new departments of geo-dynamic and open extraction through which it can train professional cadres and can attract more students in the university. Hamed noted that from 1357 till 1374 masters program was also carried at this university and many have got masters degree but the program could not be implemented due to varying problems. He stressed that the masters program was started anew in 1390 at the Poly Technic University of Kabul and now 19 students are pursuing lessons in hydraulic, hydraulics technical construction and construction faculty. The Poly Technic was established in 1346 and it has graduated thousand of professional cadres from its faculties so far.
