‘100 Schools To Be Built This Year’

Kabul (BNA) President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani inaugurated a high school in Kabul’s Houdkhil area, where has been built by prefabricated parts, the presidential palace said in a statement the other day.
According to the statement, the ceremony was attended by acting minister of education, minister of urban development and housing and some other government officials, during which the President after looking round the school’s different sections, met a number of its teachers. The President said today by building the mentioned school, one of the government’s key promises bas been practiced and this year, using prefabricated parts, 100 other schools would also be built throughout the country. ‘The situation existed in the past on building the schools was not acceptable and construction of schools by using prefabricated parts with lower cost and short time, the situation would positively change in education sector,’ the statement added. The President lauded the minister of urban development and housing and the prefabricated housing factory’s efforts on construction of the mentioned school and the plan for construction of many other schools as well as cooperation of Turkey in establishing the factory, the statement went on to say. He clarified that with establishing prefabricated housing factory, the ground would be paved for private sector investment in the respect, the statement continued. It is worth mentioning that Houdkhil No One High School has been built by prefabricated parts in two floors within 8 weeks, cost $250,000 and in the area of 972 square meter, including other facilities such as library, computer lab and first aids room.
