Kabul (BNA) Marshal Mohammad Qasim ,irst Vice-President and Acting president of Afghanistan chaired plenary session of the Council of Ministers (CM) at the presidential palace yesterday.
At the beginning, Marshal Fahim informed the meeting about the visit of President Karzai to Pakistan aims to discuss main issues such as struggle against terrorism, reconciliation, economic and transit cooperation with the Pakistan authorities.
Mohammad Karim Khalili, Second Vice-President informed the cabinet about his recent visit to India and added that India today and tomorrow will be on the side of the people of Afghanistan.
He also said the meetings were concentrated on political, economic, security and cultural issues and signing of the security pact with the US, attraction of investment of Indian investors in mines, infrastructures, transit facilities in the ports of the country especially the Chah Bahar, expansion of trade, procurement of Milli Buses, further expansion of cultural ties and awarding of educational scholarships for Afghan students.
The CM confirmed the results of Khalili’s visit to India and appreciated Indian authorities for its hospitality to the Afghan delegation.
Minister of Agriculture and Irrigation informed about the legal status of Nangarhar project as the Agricultural Development Authority with limited responsibility for development of agricultural activities, adding that the project was active during the years -1339 – 1348 but sustained damages during the war years, the ministry has proposed changing of its name and activities which was confirmed by the CM.
The proposal for expropriation and changing of territory around the Bagram airport that has been taken over by the international coalition forces for expansion of the airport was presented by the Defense Minister which was confirmed by the CM.
The CM assigned the Ministry of Defense that in coordination with economic committee of the CM the land should be provided for the land owners around the Bagram airport in Bareek Aab area according to the law.
The CM also confirmed and extended the entry of the vehicles using Turkmenistan number plates for another two months and assigned the Transport Ministry that with the coordination of Foreign Ministry resolve the problems legally.
Meanwhile, the decisions of the law committee with respect to amendment to the election law for specifying of a post for the Hindu community at the National Assembly was confirmed by the CM as well.

Kabul (BNA) Hazrat Omar Zakhailwal,Afghan Finance Minister and Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Pakistan Finance Minister  in presence of Hamid Karzai President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan and Mia Nawaz Sharif, Pakistan Prime Minister signed an agreement on extending some projects and cooperation between the two countries.
Presidential press office said BNA, as per of the documents, Afghanistan and Pakistan jointly construct a hydro-power dam on Kunar River.
Based on the agreement, the construction work of a railroad between Chaman- Spin Buldak and Peshawar-Jalalabad will be speed up.
According to the document, Pakistan will complete all its incomplete projects which include the construction work of Tourkham –Jalalabad highway.
Afghanistan will provide necessary facilities for transmitting Tajikistan and Kirghizstan’s power via Afghan soil to Pakistan as well as transporting Pakistan’s commercial goods to central Asian countries.

Local Commander of Armed Taliban Kills

Kabul (BNA) three armed Taliban including their local commander killed in a clash with Afghan security forces in Urozgan province yesterday.
The clash occurred while a group of armed Taliban attacked on convey of Afghan forces in relevant areas of Dehrawood district.
A local official in Dehrawood district of Urozgan province said, in the clash a local commander of armed Taliban killed with his two men and two others were wounded.
According to him, there were no casualties among civilians and Afghan security forces in the incident.

Seven Mine Planters Kill

Kabul (BNA) four mine planters of the armed Taliban killed as a result of NATO air attack in Lugar province the other day.
Raees Khan Sadiq, security head of police in Logar province said BNA, the armed Taliban while wanted to plant mines in Pule-Alam  capital  city of logar province argeted by NATO forces in which four armed Taliban killed.
According to another report, three Taliban who were planting mines in  Kamal Khail region of Lugar province targeted NATO’s aircraft and lost their lives.
The source added, two Kalashnikovs, a PK machingun, a communication means and mine planting tools were seized.
He added, the bodies of the dead were at the site until yesterday morning.

Eight Prisoners Released

Kabul (BNA) based on the decree of the President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, 8 prisoners released from Jawzjan province prison yesterday.
Gen. Rajab Shah the director of Jawzjan prison said BNA, the prisoners including a woman were released after assessing their cases by assigned commission.
He added, right now there are 595 prisoners including 49 women are behind the bars of Shoberghan jail in Jawzjan.

Two Women Martyred and Five Others Wounded

Kabul (BNA): As a result of a roadside mine explosion two women martyred and five others including two women wounded in Uruzgan province the day before yesterday.
Farid Ayel spokesman of police chief of Urozgan told BNA, a civilian vehicle hit a roadside mine as a result of which two women martyred and five others including two women wounded in relevant areas of Chora district of Urozgan province.
According to him, the injured were timely transferred to Terinkot civil hospital by security forces.
Official in the hospital says the health condition of two injured are critical.

Cache of Weapons and Ammunition Discovered

Kabul (BNA): A Taliban owned cache of weapons and ammunitions discovered in Parwan province yesterday.
According to press office of Parwan police, there were two Kalashnikovs, four pistols, eight mortar mines, a shell of eighty mm artillery, 25 Kg explosive materials and a huge quantity of heavy and light weapons.

Kabul (BNA)    Hamid Karzai the President of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan met Nawaz Sharif the Prime Minister of Pakistan in Islamabad at noon local time.
The talks between the two leaders focused on political and economic issues and ensuring peace and stability in Afghanistan and in the region.
Khalil Minawee General Director of BNA reports from Islamabad: At the end of their talk’s Afghan President and Pakistani Prime Minister holding a press conference informed journalists about the results of the negotiation.
Pakistan Prime Minister talking to journalists claimed that they have agreed on several economic projects including constructing a hydro – electric dam on Kunar River, constructing railway roads between Peshwar and Jalalabad and Chaman and Supeenboldak cities, and completing the second line of Toorkham – Jalalabad High Way.
President Karzai in this press conference asked Pakistan to fight terrorism and extremism seriously and decisively.
Mr. Karzai touching on the agreements reached on several economic projects said that the projects were useful for the peoples of the two countries and the people of the entire region.
Afghan President also insisted that the people of the two countries have sustained heavy losses from terrorism and extremism and expressed hope in coordination efforts, peace, and stability to restore to Afghanistan and Pakistan.
Hamid Karzai expressed hope, peace negotiations with armed oppositions under the leadership of Peace High council with cooperation of Pakistan to reach a favorite result.
It is due to Hamid Karzai the president of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan meet Asif Ali Zardari the Pakistani president this afternoon to discuss both sides’ interested issues.

Aibak (BNA) more than seven million dollars have been spent by Swiss government through poverty reduction program in Samangan province.
Solaiman Khaliqyar,  in charge of Afghan-Aid office in Samangan said, the aim of the program which carried out during the last seven years in Samangan, was to  improve the life  of people, raising the   families economy , awareness of people for adopting preventive measures for  disasters  like floods,  earthquake and etc.
Khaliqyar said, during the period, tens of public utility projects funded by Swiss on local governance, social development, health, agriculture and husbandry and adopting anti-disaster measures have been implemented at the cost of seven million dollars aid of Swiss.  
He added 62 village development councils in the centers of Ferooz Nakhjer, Khoram -Sarbagh and Hazrat-e- Sultan districts are under the cover of this program.

Four National Army Soldiers kill

Kabul (BNA) three national army soldiers were killed in explosion of a roadside mine in Maidan-Wardak province.
Defense Ministry’s spokesman office said, three national army soldiers were killed in a roadside mine explosion during their security mission in Syeedabad district of Maidan-Wardak province.
Another soldier of these forces was martyred in a similar incident in Sangeen district of Helmand province.
