Kabul (BNA) Mohammad Rasul Bawary, the deputy minister of information and culture on cultural and art affairs inaugurated a 2-day exhibition showing calligraphy of the Islamic era at the National Gallery, BNA reported the other day.
Up to 60 manuscripts from the Ghulam Maimanagi Training Center artists have been displayed at the exhibition, said the agency.
Attended by a number of the ministry's officials, Prof. Bawary said the exhibition has been held to welcome Kabul as the center of the Islamic culture in 2024.
The deputy minister shared information about the Islamic era works and calligraphies and added that despite new technology in calligraphy, various types of handwritten manuscripts have special position in this art, the agency quoted.
He also called holding such exhibitions effective in the growth of art and artists in the country, according to the agency.

Kabul (BNA) President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan Mohammad Ashraf Ghani has held a telephonic conversation with the US Secretary of Defense Mark Esper the other day, Bakhtar News Agency reported.
During the conversation, the two sides spoke about the current security situations in the region, particularly the recent tension between the US and Iran, said the agency.
Both sides emphasized on addressing the tension via diplomatic channel, according to the source.

Kabul (BNA) Chief Executive Dr. Abdullah Abdullah met with US embassy charge d ’affaires late on Tuesday evening, a statement from the CE press office said Wednesday.
During the meeting which was held at the Spidar Palace, both sides spoke about the recent regional developments, efforts for peace, the process of meeting electoral complaints, said the statement.
The two sides also exchanged views on good governance, according to the statement.

Meeting Discusses Road Nomination Plan

Kabul (BNA) Chaired by Minister of Information and Culture, Ms. Hasina Safi a meeting of Road Nomination Commission was held to discuss a plan on naming roads and squares in the country, Bakhtar News Agency reported the other day.
The draft plan provided in four chapter and 28 articles was discussed by the meeting participants at the ministry’s office, said the agency.
The commission members shared their visions and suggestions and spoke about the provisions of the draft plan, according to the agency.

Kabul (BNA) Afghanistan’s Ministry of Industry and Commerce has announced that 11,087 metric tons of the country’s products have been exported to the world since the air-corridors establishment.
“Since the inauguration of air-corridor program, we have exported 11,087 MTs of goods via 1,111 flights valued 238 million dollars to the world”, Ajmal Ahmady, Minister of Industry and Commerce has tweeted.
According to Ahmady, 5,376 metric tons of Afghanistan goods, valued 130 million dollars have been exported through 855 flights in the year 2019.
A statement published by the Ministry of Industry and Commerce said the air-corridor has caused a 33% increase in Afghanistan’s export. Afghanistan air-corridor program was launched 3 years ago through which Afghan exporters and businessmen can export products to the world.
Products exported through the air-corridor program include Afghan saffron, fresh fruits, dry fruits, handicrafts, carpets, vegetables, herbal medicines and Karakuls. Afghanistan has business cooperation with European countries, Central Asia, China, India and the Middle East through the air-corridor program.

Kabul (BNA) Ambassador of state of Qatar to Kabul Saeed Mubarak al Khayarin made a courtesy call on Hamdullah, Mohib National Security Advisor of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, a statement from NSA press office said yesterday. National Security Advisor congratulated the Ambassador on his appointment in Kabul and assured him of Afghan Government’s support, the statement added. He added that Afghanistan hopes the current peace process will head for a positive direction and result in ending all conflicts in the country. Qatar’s Ambassador expressed happiness over his appointment in Kabul and reaffirmed his country’s commitment to supporting the peace process in Afghanistan, according to the statement.

Drinking Water Provides for Hundreds Families

Faizabad (BNA) Drinking water provided for hundreds families in Baharak District, Badakhshan province yesterday.
Abdul Wahid Taibi head of migrant and returnees affairs of Badakhshan told BNA, United Nation Office for Refugees provides drinking water through the creation of water storage and suction to 850,000 displaced families in Bahark District, Badakhshan province.
He added that the families had been displaced from Yamgan, Jorm and Wardoj districts in Dasht-e-Frakh region, Baharak District for three years and were facing a shortage of potable water.

25 Taliban Joined Government in Ghor

Ferozkoih (BNA) Twenty-five Taliban rebels were joined government in Ghor yesterday.
Abdul Maroof Ramish spokesman for Ghor security commandment told BNA, the militias led by Mohsen Khan one of Taliban local commanders in Kamang region, Shahrak district of that province were joined to government.
Meanwhile, 69 Taliban also surrendered in Shahrak District, Ghor province two days ago and joined the government.

Faizabad (BNA)  A worker lost his life and six others have been injured in avalanche in Badakhshan yesterday.
Syeed Abdullah Homayoon Dehqan anti-disaster head of Badakhshan told BNA, as a result of heavy avalanche in Wakhnidew village, Raghistan District, a worker of gold finder was lost his life and six others have been injured.
The area is under Taliban occupation, he added.

Kabul (BNA)  The national defense ministry reported from killing of 16 armed oppositions in clearing operations conducted by defense forces in various parts of the country.
National defense ministry press office told BNA, the security and defense forces in the last 24 hours conducting joined offensive operations in Faryab, Helmand, Herat and Kandahar provinces, killed 16 armed oppositions and injured two others.
