Kabul (BNA) A political activist in Pakistan says since some days ago, the army of that country is arresting the youths and civil society activists   in tribal regions.
Afrasyab Khatak a political activist in Khaiber Pashtun Khaw state has said that Pakistani army has proceeded to arrest the people and youths who complain and seriously criticize the improper and discriminative dealing and acting in tribal areas.
Khatak says that tribal youths and civil society activists in area have repeatedly said that Pakistan army is not seeking to fight against terrorism but they follow specific goals in the region which has never been to the public interests but create ethnical problems in tribal areas.
Mr. Khatak claims that the federal government has imposed restrictions on political activities in tribal areas  and using different pretexts has tried to silent the voice of people there.
According to Mr. Khatak the army in pretext of checking and pursuing terrorists inters the houses of people and arrests tribal youths. He added, in reality the presence of army in tribal regions is not for fighting terrorism but for supporting them.
The army in tribal areas is supporting specific groups carrying out their terrorist activities under the name of Taliban, while they kill tribal dignitaries and commit hundreds other crimes. In the meantime, destabilizing the situation there, provides the ground for migration of the residents of the area to other parts of the country aiming to confront them with other Pakistani ethnic groups especially Sindhi, Qawm –I – Mahajer (migrated ethnical group) and Balochs.
Also, Pakistani government in an earlier designed program tries to prevent the progress of tribal areas, as currently the area is the most underdeveloped region in Pakistan.
